Thank you, Julia, as always. Sure, and uh today we're just gonna do a free-for-all. We started out with the idea we're gonna talk about prom. And uh, did you go? Did you not go? Um, did you like it? Uh would you do it again? Uh why did you not go to prom? And we kind of covered it a little bit. Why didn't you go? Why didn't I go? Um, well, back then in the 80s, well, it was 1980.
SPEAKER_03Never gonna give you at you down. Never gonna let you around.
SPEAKER_07Okay, well, um, really, I didn't go because I was too cool. Um, I was sort of the class clown, and um I just you know what it was I came from a small school. All right, I it was kind of a small school.
SPEAKER_03I went to the same school.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, you went to the same school uh you know years later, but it was a small school. There wasn't a lot to pick from. You know what I mean? The girls that there was these two girl sisters that were twins, the Michelle sisters, they were hot.
SPEAKER_05Well, were we talking here?
SPEAKER_07Are we talking or but I didn't I didn't go because I was kind of a shy, cool dude. I thought you were rejected. Uh no, I was never rejected. I was never rejected.
SPEAKER_00You said you asked someone and they told you no. Um, that was a lie.
SPEAKER_07No, sure. I did I did one. No, but that was the year before. That was I was uh I was a um a junior and uh I did ask a girl out uh to the prom and she she said no. She said she she at that time she had vaginosis and couldn't go. So I said, okay, you're a damn lie.
SPEAKER_03Liars. All lies. What was that? Glenbard South?
SPEAKER_07No, that wasn't Glenbard's South.
SPEAKER_03That was at the public school. She said, Hey, I got itchy badge.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I got I got an itchy vag. But uh no, the the following year when I was a senior, I barely skated through my senior year. I my my English teacher said, if you don't pass uh this last test, you're not gonna you're not gonna graduate.
SPEAKER_03Was that Mr. Kalas Kowalski? I remember him being cold.
SPEAKER_07No, I don't I don't remember. He was no, he was an older guy, bald, um, kind of a chubby Mr.
SPEAKER_03Wall?
SPEAKER_07Might have been. I I don't remember.
SPEAKER_03Well, I knew one of my English teachers was also your teacher and ended up marrying a student.
SPEAKER_07Oh no, it wasn't him. No, because he was already old. Oh yeah. What the fuck is right?
SPEAKER_03Well, that wasn't happened at your school.
SPEAKER_07He was a Republican. He was a Republican in St.
SPEAKER_03Francis.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. I mean, uh No, but um I um I decided that uh I just didn't want to go.
SPEAKER_03You know, I wasn't, you know, I didn't feel now you wanted to get drunk and drive your car into a McDonald's.
SPEAKER_07I did do that. I did do that, but it was like in the summer. It was already late. I'd already graduated, yes.
SPEAKER_03I created let me bring you back. Let me bring you back 19 years ago. Holy shit. That's it. 19 years ago. Oh my god. Wait a minute, how old are you? Shut up. Um let's see. 9-11 was far behind us.
SPEAKER_07Oh my god. Are we gonna hear 9-11 all over again?
SPEAKER_03Brittany Spears had her meltdown, in sync broken up, Justin Timberlake ripped a titty off in Super Bowl sometime around that time. Michael Jackson was far dead. No, he wasn't.
SPEAKER_01He wasn't dead yet. He was he died in like 2008. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03When do you think I graduated high school? I said 19 years ago.
SPEAKER_07Is that the year that uh we went to um Wolf Lake or whatever? Because we were there at um um in Wis was it Wisconsin? No, Gurney. Beaches was with us. Um I know we went to Gurney or uh the water park, the indoor water park. Remember with dad?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and uh Key West Key Lime Cove.
SPEAKER_07Key Lime Cove, yeah. And um Michael Jackson died, and so did Fayer Fawcett.
SPEAKER_03Maybe they were together. Yeah, they died the same day. For real? Yeah, for real. That was 2009. We're talking about 2007. So let me bring you back same week.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, it was the same week. I thought it was like almost the same day.
SPEAKER_03We meant something called a whale tail was popular.
SPEAKER_07What the hell's a whale tail?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, what's something called von Dutch purses and hats, and Jersey Shore had just premiered. Oh, Vera Bradley. Vera Bradley was popular, coach purses, Ug boots.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I remember that. I bought you. I bought you all of the above.
SPEAKER_03The North Face jackets were popular. There was no such thing as squishy squishmallows or uh what are those dumpling squishies that my kids love?
SPEAKER_05I don't know.
SPEAKER_03No such thing. It was all but a dream. Elon Musk was never.
SPEAKER_07He was just trying He was trying to get a visa uh from a Milani, I think. To get into the country.
SPEAKER_03He's definitely swiped his card on her butthole anyway. Whoa.
SPEAKER_07Okay, well, we're gonna say bye for now because we're gonna keep recording.
SPEAKER_03It was my high school prom. I went uh in a group of fr with a group of friends. I had no date.
SPEAKER_052007.
SPEAKER_03How many were in your group to be exactly um like single people, like maybe three or four, but we went with like there we met up with a group who had dates, basically. Okay, but it was fucked up because my ex-boyfriend, who we had just broken up like two months before, was in the prom court or whatever. So it was really like depressing. I had no date, and he was on prom court, and I was just like, This fucking blows. Why did I come here? And even a teacher came by and they were like, Are you okay? And I'm like, I'm fine.
SPEAKER_06Why did I get it?
SPEAKER_03Spaghetti scraps. Let me explain. A whale tail is when a thong rides up your butt crack and you can see it under above your low ride.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, that was really gross. I mean, when you bend over the point of that. And when you bend over, it's like an oil spill.
SPEAKER_05Oh yeah, why why was that popular? Because that's just nasty to me. I never ugh Um, I don't know.
SPEAKER_01They're coming back. Low, low highs.
SPEAKER_05Dude, everything's coming back because we nobody can come up with new shit anymore.
SPEAKER_03That's true, and everything repeats.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_03That's true. Everything repeats. Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01If I could go back, I think I would have was your dress.
SPEAKER_03It was like a light blue. It was like um it was like in between your color and like we're back. This color, maybe. Okay.
SPEAKER_07And it Okay, we're live now.
SPEAKER_03I think I still have that dress actually. I I thought you had Maria tried on. I'm sure I did. Yeah, it was like a light blue, like halter. I had fake eyelashes, fake weave. I had my makeup spray tan. I had French tip acrylic nails.
SPEAKER_07She looked like Liza Minelli.
SPEAKER_03It was gross.
SPEAKER_07It was my daughter looked like Liza Minelli coming out of rehab.
SPEAKER_00Yeah. Yeah, there's a picture of the. I see. I thought so.
SPEAKER_07I thought so. Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett died the same day. Wow. Who got all the press?
SPEAKER_002009.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, and who got all the press?
SPEAKER_00Michael. Yeah. It was homicide, but that's okay.
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_00Allegedly. It wasn't homicide. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07No.
SPEAKER_00He gave him Percocet.
SPEAKER_07But okay, wait, well.
SPEAKER_00Time for the Perkette.
SPEAKER_07But they didn't really say it was a homicide right off the bat.
SPEAKER_01No, they just found him. The guy's in jail now.
SPEAKER_07Well, no, they found him slumped over uh one of his chimp bands in here.
SPEAKER_00Farrah Fawcett had anal cancer. Oh shit, polling.
SPEAKER_07They said, Michael, get off that chin.
SPEAKER_03Ractal? Yeah. Who was her bo her man?
SPEAKER_07Uh Lee Majors.
SPEAKER_00No. No.
SPEAKER_07Farah Fawcett? Um he's uh Oh, that was uh he's already dead, too. Um Robert Rifford?
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_07No, not Robert. No, it was uh Robert O'Neill. That's it. O'Neill O'Neill. No, O'Neill, yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_03Come on, Jim Burgess. Not chimp.
SPEAKER_07I don't think so. It was a Michael Jackson chimp.
SPEAKER_03Oh my god, disgusting.
SPEAKER_07Did Michael Jackson Jackson's chimp have a name?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it was called uh blanket.
SPEAKER_07I wonder if the chimp killed himself after Michael died.
SPEAKER_03You know his son is named Blanket.
SPEAKER_07Is he really?
SPEAKER_03Is it really? Yes. No, it is not. Michael Jackson's son is named Blanket. Oh, it was Ryan O'Neill.
SPEAKER_01Ryan O'Neill.
SPEAKER_07I know it was a R name.
SPEAKER_01I don't know. I watched one of his there was a lifetime documentaries that my mom just watched. Wait, what was it his chip Gonzo or something?
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_07I thought it was Gonzo. No, Gonzo was um the Muppet. Uh Ronald Reagan's chimp.
SPEAKER_03Okay.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_05Just like I just said that that Michael Jackson's monkey was named Blanket.
SPEAKER_03No, that was his son's name.
SPEAKER_05That was his name. Oh. Ah, my bad.
SPEAKER_07I think he's Prince. I think uh no, Prince didn't have a chimp.
SPEAKER_01No. No, his son's name was Prince. Bubbles. Oh, yeah, that's right.
SPEAKER_07Bubbles to chimp. What the fuck? Prince. It was Bubbles to Chimp.
SPEAKER_03Prince was born 1997. Uh Paris 1998. And then Prince Michael Jackson II, formerly known as Blanket. Wow. I told you he had a child named Blanket. Yeah, I knew that.
SPEAKER_01That crazy.
SPEAKER_03That's the one he dangled over the window. Yeah. Oh, that's right. Is that the youngest? Yeah. Oh.
SPEAKER_06Dingus. He dangled his dingus off the baby.
SPEAKER_01Well, how about your prom? Um, so I had two proms, or at least I went twice. The first year was it was like um, so the the junior board would play on their senior prom. And so I I found this out freshman year because my sister's friends were all um juniors and seniors. So I I I learned how to like I can go early, and my mom always told me she never went, so I definitely wanted to go. And um, so I helped the day uh and plan out the day for the junior prom, but that was Joey's year, so that was during COVID. So I'm not gonna lie, it would not have been the prom I wanted for sure, and not what I got. But we hired a comic slash magician magician, and so is it the same guy that was at the president's uh I don't know Tony Hintcliff? Tony Heckcliffe. Well, because it was so it was actually really sad because it was like um sad clown. No, he was good, but like so the seniors came.
SPEAKER_07It was bubbles.
SPEAKER_01The seniors came and we were like, so we need your name and like who you want to sit at your table with because if one of you get COVID, like we gotta send it to the school. And they were like, Well, um, they couldn't bring dates from other schools, they couldn't, um, they had to be there at a certain time. They there was a lot of rules leading up to the day of prom, which was so sad. So the biggest g one that got a lot of people is that they couldn't go to prom if they had dates that were not in the school. That's nuts. Yeah, so some had had dates that had either graduated so they couldn't go. Oh yeah, so it was really sad because I think in the end there was like I want to say 75 or 90 people came, and their class was like, you know, my class was almost 900, their class was almost like 950.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god, if not more.
SPEAKER_01So like that was really sad. But um the night came, they like we registered them in, and then they um sat down with their tables, and then um we brought the food was given to them at the tables, and then the shm magic comedy show started. And the sh magic? And then I think there was something going on. And then at like two hours Did they sacrifice a goat during this uh No, it was it was like they had to sit down, like they could not dance, but they could if they had their mask on, and so like um throughout the whole night and I think this problem was like four hours.
SPEAKER_00No sweating on the other side, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Two like an hour in, like, people started leaving, it was just kind of sad, and then um yeah, uh like that's and then at the very end, only the special needs kids stayed, so they were all why were they so special? No, because that's that was the last thing.
SPEAKER_07So I So they were were there midgets?
SPEAKER_01No, no, so I a baby was there.
unknownOh my god.
SPEAKER_01I am tall, spirited, and um, because they all came with a limo that was gonna come after like the four hours, so at night time to drop them off at home. Um did uh did clowns come out of the the limo? No, and uh 300 of them, yeah, 300 clowns. No, and um they all look like I got to dance at prom like with them because everybody else had left. It was sad, but the what I knew of people, they went to Chicago um for like the day or went to Navy Pier and stayed for the weekend. Um but yeah, no, that I my friends all had fun who went or didn't go. A lot of them do leave early because of and that's how my prom went. Um, because they go on trips afterwards um to like lake houses and stuff like that. Acid trips? No, like um to the hotels for the weekend, the ones that have the resorts, or like um a lot of them.
SPEAKER_00Parents encouraging um, you know, little hookups there. What?
SPEAKER_01That was the old fit with the condoms. Well, because there was um okay, so I guess I'll I guess I'll start with my prom. My prom was a beautiful day. I really liked it. I my Aunt Gloria um took me in. We got my hair done. She like helped the lady like figure out what I wanted. Um, and then Gloria dropped me back off at the house. And um my sister did my makeup. Um, my mom and I had gone dress shopping a while back, so I had my dress. Um, it was super cute. Uh and I don't know, leading up to prom, you had to submit your prom dress so nobody else had it. What? Yeah, it was a whole ordeal. And then um I went with a group the bougie prom.
SPEAKER_07Where did you go to? Hollywood bitches?
SPEAKER_01No, it was just something like you did, and that we've heard that other schools, you know, had always done. High school. What school? My high school. Neighborville North. Yeah, Naperville North. Yeah, yeah. I loved my high school. The traditions they held.
SPEAKER_07Hey, shout out to Neighborville North, home of the Trojans condoms.
SPEAKER_01Um no, and then um we uh I I got dressed and then I met my friends at um one of the like forest preserves that had the horses and stuff. And um Yeah, horses? Yeah, they had horses at this place. Oh, like Canting? It wasn't Cantingy, it was the one off of um Oh uh Butterfield in 59, actually.
SPEAKER_07Butterfield in 59.
SPEAKER_01Oh no, Naperville. Naper, Naper Settlement? No. Naperville. It had it's like a horse ranch.
SPEAKER_07Oh, I think I I think I know what you're talking about.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's the one right in front of like the police department. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, it's not 59, though. It's um is it Raymond? Not Raymond. I know what you're talking about. It is, it's yeah.
SPEAKER_01We so we went there and it was a group of I want to say nine or ten of us. Uh we took photos, and funny enough, we all had like the same colored dress. It was really cute. So like the pictures were beautiful. And one of um my friend's dad was a I believe he is a photographer full time. Our photos were beautiful, like amazing. And um, my friend Alexis, which is someone who graduated with my sister, she made me my um my corsage, corsage, and she made a bouquet because for seniors you get a bouquet um for prom. And then we took photos, I think, for like three hours. Oh my fucking yeah, and well, and before that I met I went to um Gloria's house.
SPEAKER_05You couldn't pay me to do that. Was this a prom or a wedding?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, for real.
SPEAKER_05Three fucking hours. You couldn't pay me to do that shit.
SPEAKER_01What did you get in? Like a horse-drawn carriage? No, I I actually drove me and my friends to prom actually.
SPEAKER_05You ran down the horses.
SPEAKER_01What was the point of the horses? Oh, they just had um, it was a horse ranch. Just to take pictures? Yeah. Oh, that's stupid.
SPEAKER_05You rented it?
SPEAKER_01No, like people like That's fucked up. It okay, so like at least in my mind, did you step in any horses? Everything was like crazy, like go big, go home, you know? Like the the That's quite big. I'd go home and take a nap. Yeah, me too. I I'm not But see, this is Naperville, Bougieville. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_07Kill it, get closer to the city.
SPEAKER_01Well, and the people who um um who were the more wealthy students, they had a golf course they went to with all the nice trees and the like pillars, like it and they had a whole day of getting ready. Like from what I heard from days after was like the all the girls, like they went to the house and like they all the guys had to get matching colors to their girls, and it it was yeah, it was they like if you think mine was bougie, like there were way more bougie people. Um but yeah, and then um Yeah, I can't relate with that shit. No, my prom was awesome, so we we get to prom. Um did you have like a movie studio film all this shit?
SPEAKER_00And was it at the school or somewhere else?
SPEAKER_01No, we had were at the Addington, which is uh like a wedding venue. Um, is that by Walmart? Yeah, so it was um It's the Abbeington.
SPEAKER_03It's not Addington, it's Abington. The Abington. Yeah, I think that's a bougie ass place, bro.
SPEAKER_05It is. I mean, it is right by Walmart, but it is pretty bougie.
SPEAKER_07It is bougie oh yeah, the one in Glen Ellen, Abington. Yeah, we I think we went there once when we were kids for either an Easter buffet or whatever. Very bougie.
SPEAKER_03Yes, very bougie. Yeah, Daniel and I checked it out for a wedding venue, and we're like, nope. No, no, can't afford this in our lives.
SPEAKER_01Right. Well, it it was all for the venues. Damn. So like um that's fucked up.
SPEAKER_07Well, I mean, that's that's I mean, that's a huge class. That's uh well, still even even for that. I mean, it's like a huge production for a prom.
SPEAKER_00I mean for your prom, you had to pay for tickets, right?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, I how much were they, like 500 bucks?
SPEAKER_01I think it was $82.
SPEAKER_07Damn, yeah for prom.
SPEAKER_01But it was like a buffet, it was all you could drink, soda, or like Shirley Temple's. Oh, soda, fuck. Our gifts were like um fireball and tequila. And then we also got goodie bags and like yeah.
SPEAKER_07Well, and then came with condas and sex toys and no a bottle of vodka. Well that'd be way better. Yeah, right? And then that's my idea of a prom. Me too. With the hooker.
SPEAKER_01No. So we get there and we sit down because we get to choose whatever table we want, and there's gifts on the tables for us. I dude, people still do.
SPEAKER_07I mean, based on what you're talking about, we had nothing like that at our prom. I mean, I didn't go, but I knew about our prom. Yeah. Our prom was at like a a uh a brothel. No, it wasn't a brothel. It would have been nice. St. Francis, I don't know. No, it was St. Francis. It was I think it was in the gymnasium back then because I graduated in 1980. The slant dump. Yeah, it was like at somebody at at another um a gymnasium. It was it was not a big production back then. We didn't have big productions for prompts. Julia, did uh did you knew about your schools? Did you Oh, was it?
SPEAKER_00Because what is what the fucking hotel? Right?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, because that's what North used to have. And they actually, the year before we ended it there, which was Maria's year, they told them they were not allowed to book rooms anymore because of how You mean they booked rooms?
SPEAKER_00No, this was like at the ballroom of a prom adjacks.
SPEAKER_05Hey, I'm all about that kind of prompt.
SPEAKER_00Sign me the fucking but we're talking a Catholic high school where it was. Our graduating classes.
SPEAKER_07So the priests had sex with the students.
SPEAKER_00No, they're about only 100 and something graduating kids. Yeah. Yeah. You know, so it was small, so we didn't require a huge place. Yeah, same with us.
SPEAKER_01No, like uh we I thought it was the indigo hotel. Indigo? Isn't that like a lesbian, uh nice hotel? Really nice.
SPEAKER_07And the year Okay, all you girls hold hands.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I think it was the year my sister graduated. They signed a seven-year contract with the Abington so that we would host proms there. What? And then my sit An exclusive contract with But before that it was, I believe it was the Indigo, and they had a rule for that last year that they weren't allowed to book the rooms upstairs. But I think some were like Did the Indigo girls perform? How would the hotel know if the parents booked the rooms for them? I think that's what they ended up doing. Because um, you know, you can't book if you're not 18.
SPEAKER_00Right.
SPEAKER_01So like they had a rule just like no seniors are allowed to, but I think a lot of people just had their parents booked.
SPEAKER_00But if it was a dry kind of event, why would they need rooms? Why didn't the parents just gotta fuck? Yeah, but what parent in the right mind?
SPEAKER_0750 pregnancies came out of that surprise.
SPEAKER_00Oh my god. I mean, we had 50 pregnancies and three cases of gonorrhea.
SPEAKER_01Okay, did you rent a room? Yes, I got a room with my sister and my friend. Um because I told my mom, like that's nuts. Well, because it was in my okay, I guess like I was thinking because like my mom was is an older mom, so like my mom get like let us watch all the like um you know the move. No American movie like the movie American Pond. What's this cost five hours of porn? Oh my god. No, like the you know, like what prom it is, and like, and um I didn't want I felt like it was a s like a special night, so I wanted to like hang out with my friends, but the people I went with, um, we just didn't do anything afterwards, so and that was fine, but like my mom yeah, I told my mom I wanted to go to like a resort or something, or like go to the Dells because all these other people had like houses or like they went to hotels or and uh this was really funny. It's not normal, by the way. No, it's not this was not normal. It's not normal.
SPEAKER_03No, it's not normal after home coming or after prom, you go to a fucking resort. Give me a break. Well, no, no, no. You would go to like a lake house.
SPEAKER_05No, no, not house, not a you would situation.
SPEAKER_07That's a they would because nobody fucking knows. Wait a minute, wait a minute. If you're a Carrington, maybe you do that. Oh or if you're like uh upper crusty yeast infection. Right. Do you know something? What's this charge for Daffy Duck does Mickey?
SPEAKER_01No, so we went to a really nice resort that had a pool and it was mummy. Motel sixes have pools. That's right.
SPEAKER_05It was like Yeah, they're called whirlpools. I would actually prefer a Motel Six because that's for my kind of people. Oh, you want to leave there with bed bugs and let them finish.
SPEAKER_01All right. Let them finish. No, but where at it's uh it was um by uh Oak Park or Oak Brook. Yeah, it was right there.
SPEAKER_06Don't remind me of Oak Park.
SPEAKER_01Embassy Suites. I think it was the pool. And we were the only post the whole hotel. They ended up telling us that at the end, because they just let us stay in the pool like longer every night. Um, and no, I had a great weekend. I had a great time, and then um another tradition was like you didn't go to um school that Monday.
SPEAKER_07Because you were hungover or you had syphilis.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00Okay, BB, mess up then. Okay, so let the plan B take it force. So you girls got head liquor and everything in the room. I think yeah, we did.
SPEAKER_07Mommy I caught Ebola.
SPEAKER_01But no, because well, because our problem, like we had uh, so I I back at prom, like we were we get we were given food, we had like soda and whatever. And then it's like you were kidnapped. No, I do remember our rations.
SPEAKER_06We were given food in a tomb.
SPEAKER_01I do remember that after that we did like the prom uh king and queen, but they changed it to the husky's court. So it was like the teachers. The teachers like told like who had the most service hours, who did the most service hours? Um no, they I'm lost.
SPEAKER_05I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_01No, because they they stopped uh leaving in like um Are you sure it wasn't an hour service? Oh my god.
SPEAKER_07All right, somebody bring in the canine.
SPEAKER_01So this it was it was really nice because it was like instead of two people, it was um a gangbang.
SPEAKER_07Was this out of state?
SPEAKER_01It was like ten individuals.
SPEAKER_05Oh, so a major gangbang.
SPEAKER_01I will digress the Bukaki.
SPEAKER_03It's called a train. You're running a train.
SPEAKER_05I will I will um big Eiffel Tower situation right there. That is a huge skyscraper, you know what I mean, for one chick. Somebody cleaned up that brown trail.
SPEAKER_01No, it was cute they got sashes, but uh all I know is I could I was apparently one away to getting a prom queen and I was so sad, but it was okay. Okay, well, who do I have to kill? But uh no, and then after that, I do remember it being kind of awkward to dance because it wasn't like homecoming or something. Because they just got trained, but they all got sashed.
SPEAKER_05I could barely stand up after that, I'm sure. Well, yeah, getting hit by the getting kicked by the horse.
SPEAKER_01Um but no, our dresses were really long, so we couldn't really dance like uh boogie down. I don't know. And um but it was it was still really fun because even though I didn't go with anybody as a date, I still got to slow dance twice. So I was fine. With yourself? No, with um the guys in the school. And then um never mind. Yeah, I was gonna ask the same question, but no, uh yeah, I got to slow dance, so I got to like fulfill my dream. Like, oh my god, I didn't come with anybody, but I still gotta dance.
SPEAKER_08Hell yeah.
SPEAKER_01And then um, yeah, and then uh funny enough, a lot of people did not last obviously the whole night because they went for more than 30 seconds plowing them.
SPEAKER_07Get that kid off the watermelon.
SPEAKER_03I don't understand. You do this whole thing all day to get ready for prom and then you only stay for 30 minutes.
SPEAKER_05That's a ripoff, bro.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, right.
SPEAKER_03It's so fucking weird.
SPEAKER_07That's a ripoff.
SPEAKER_01Well, that's what like what we were all like seeing from like our older siblings. Like my class alone had 14 in marching band, keep in mind, 14 siblings. Like our my year and Maria's year had the most amount of siblings. So, like, I think there was almost a hundred students in my grade that had siblings in Maria's grade in high school. Oh wow.
SPEAKER_00So, like Castetutonido going to on a resort trip.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I don't know. No, but it was like something we saw and that we all wanted, or like um was one last like hurrah, like with our classmates.
SPEAKER_00Okay, Jess, when years ended, did you go straight home?
SPEAKER_03No, we went to uh a park district, I believe it was a um might have been like the Wheaton park district or some shit. And then we had like uh we stayed till like 3 a.m. and it was like an organized fun night. It was like but the whole everybody who went to prom had to go to this. Oh, okay. After a party.
SPEAKER_01Yes. Okay, so other high schools have that, but North does not do this, where they will have prom in Chicago and then they would drive in the like sky high till 12 a.m.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Um, this was very similar, but we could drive ourselves because obviously everything was within the same area, but it was like, yeah, if you went to prom, you had to go to this, basically. Wow, yeah. And then you had to stay for a certain amount of time. But it was kind of like that was fun because you they had like a lot of different stuff that you could do, and then you could also like change out of your dress and shit. Um, but yeah, they had like, you know, you could go in and play pickleball or you could play like volleyball ball in like one of those like rooms or whatever.
SPEAKER_01It was fun. Yeah, see we had that, but like people instead of the school providing that, we would just leave ourselves. So prom ended at 10, and then I ended up driving everybody home, or like four people, and then you went to MSE Suites?
SPEAKER_03Yeah. It's so bizarre. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07No. And you and your sister So wait so wait a minute. So your prom ended at 10, and uh so you had like 30 minutes of party time.
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_07No, no, she's gonna be able to get it. Uh-huh.
SPEAKER_01And then you could get there from six to six thirty or six to seven, and then um you would they would eat at eight, and then um during dinner they did the awards, and then yeah, that was it.
SPEAKER_07And then it was party and then what a waste of time.
SPEAKER_01I was like the whole time, I believe, and then we left.
SPEAKER_07So after that you went to a hotel?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_03Was it just you and Maria and your mom?
SPEAKER_01No, it was um Maria and my friend Taylor, and then that was it. And then yeah, we had the because it was Mother's Day weekend, that was the funny part. Um, when they planned it. They weren't supposed to, but they ended up doing it that weekend. So um Taylor had left a couple uh one day, and then me and Maria were still there, and we just stayed at the pool all day. That's all we did. Wow. And they had saunas, they it was like um it was like a relaxing place.
SPEAKER_03Was that the place where Dick uh that restaurant? Um who's the announcer for the Cubs?
SPEAKER_07Dick.
SPEAKER_03No, that's the place. It was surrounded by a Dick Cheney, no, not Dick Cheney. Yeah, with the big hat with the big glasses.
SPEAKER_07Oh, that's Harry Carey.
SPEAKER_03Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_07Is that the where did you get Dick out of?
SPEAKER_03Is that the hotel that have the Harry Carey's attached to it?
SPEAKER_07Well, that's that's no, that's Schomburg, isn't it?
SPEAKER_03That's in Yorktown. Oh no. Oh, that's I thought that place is gone. No, I that's I literally just have my work out of the summer, yeah. Oh, the Weston. That's the Weston.
SPEAKER_01The Weston. We didn't have a or not. That's a hotel.
SPEAKER_03How about you, Joe?
SPEAKER_07Yeah, Joe, what about you? What was your prom like?
SPEAKER_05I didn't fucking go.
SPEAKER_01Was there a prom?
unknownYes.
SPEAKER_05Well, why did you go?
SPEAKER_07Come on, we want to know why didn't you go? You rebel.
SPEAKER_05Because I didn't want to go. Like this.
SPEAKER_01Did they offer a prom or did they offer a prom slash alternative?
SPEAKER_05No, they offered a prom. Uh so junior year, obviously, because I was peak COVID, no. But then senior year, yes, there was a prom. I chose not to go. Because I did not want to. True.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Uh well, okay.
SPEAKER_07You chose you chose not to go because you did not want to. Genuinely, yeah. Genuinely didn't want to. But what made you decide you didn't want to go?
SPEAKER_05Was there some I just didn't like m anybody in my at my school? I didn't like I don't know. I just had no interest. Just the thought of going was just like, yeah, this sucks.
SPEAKER_00Okay, so if you have an opportunity, would you and your band play at a prom? Oh god. Hell no.
SPEAKER_07Absolutely not. Would you play Michael Jackson tunes?
SPEAKER_05No.
SPEAKER_03Joey used to love Michael Jackson.
SPEAKER_05No, I love Michael Jackson. No, I I'm a huge Michael Jackson fan. I'm just saying, I w I would never play at a prom. You couldn't pay me a billion dollars to go play at some fucking prom.
SPEAKER_00Two billion dollars. How about a wedding?
SPEAKER_07No. You know, I gotta tell you, Michael Jackson. Um if it was between Michael Jackson and his chimp, I'd listen to his chimp. Wow. There's a racist joke in there, but uh who's who's darker, the chimp or the or Michael Jackson?
SPEAKER_00Uh uh that's not the one I was gonna go with, but okay. Not too funny.
SPEAKER_07Who's got a bigger dick, the chimp or Michael Jim?
SPEAKER_00Shamo! No more B- So I'm surprised you drove BB and didn't have a limo. She did, she had horses.
SPEAKER_07They're not that rich. She had ponies.
SPEAKER_00No, it seemed like they were trying to do all what the upper crust was doing.
SPEAKER_01Well, okay, I will admit, like, I feel like it was more I was thinking that I had to do all this, but it was also like my mom never went. Well, before she started working out of high school, and my sister didn't get to go, so it was like, why not make a big hoopla on something that like you can only do once in your life? So I thought you were. Yeah, but you could have been like, haha, I went twice. Yeah, but like I didn't do any of that for junior prom.
SPEAKER_00But you going has nothing to do with your mom. Right. I mean, or something like she got to go. You're your own person.
SPEAKER_08That's right.
SPEAKER_00No, yeah.
SPEAKER_05You are your own person. Yeah, you're your own person.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, but like you don't gotta keep up with them Joneses. Yeah, that's right.
SPEAKER_01That's right. No, I just I I just always wanted to go, and I feel like I've always wanted to do a big I guess hoopla about it. So you know, well here's my dress. I loved my hair. You can't wait for your wedding.
SPEAKER_07Well, you know what? Here's something about BB. BB is having the best life I've ever seen any individual have.
SPEAKER_05For real.
SPEAKER_07Of anybody in my family. I thought that I, you know, was did a lot of stuff. Bebe beats me by a mile. Yeah. Every time I go on TikTok or I go on Facebook, she's always hoopling on and you know, that's always what they want you to see. Well, yeah, she's probably somewhere in a dark room, like crying. She's got her little uh her little um, what do you call it? Um the rot the Robert doll.
SPEAKER_03Oh my god.
SPEAKER_07The little Ozzy Osborne Robert doll, and she's probably the one they're a Robert doll. Yeah, you gotta watch uh Ozzy's tour.
SPEAKER_03That's scary.
SPEAKER_07They pick up a uh Robert doll. It's from a haunted house.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's called Robert the Doll. The doll. Robert the doll. A voodoo doll.
SPEAKER_07It's like it's yeah, that's not a voodoo doll. It's a doll.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it's like on a chair, like on a yeah, it's on a chair, it has like a navy like it's it's tan. Oh, I yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_07It's Ozzy Osborne picked it up on the tour with his son. They were on a detour tour or whatever on on video, and he picked it up. They traveled with it uh in a motorhome, and that's what I'm afraid. They picked it up in Florida, yes.
SPEAKER_00And so, yeah, so and then everything bad started happening.
SPEAKER_07And everything, yeah, all of a sudden they started having bad luck.
SPEAKER_00But it's not you.
SPEAKER_07Yeah, that's not you. Yeah, every time I look at TikTok or Instagram or uh the wanted pages, you're there having a great time. You really are.
SPEAKER_01I feel it, I feel like um, you know, this kind of relates to prom is that like I like I know like not everybody gets a prom or like I know like Well fuck them. Uh or like some people don't want to do this, um, or you know, this will only happen once. So it's like why why wait or not do it? Right. You know, like I feel yeah. I I feel like that has always been my mental m mentality, and especially now, but you only live see the way I look at it.
SPEAKER_03Well, there is something called money that it takes to do all those things.
SPEAKER_07She had she had her mom and her sister, you know, probably panhandling.
SPEAKER_01No, I I I believe I paid for half of my uh prom dress. I used my quintaneta heels. Uh yeah, she did have a but you you know what you do save money.
SPEAKER_07Yeah. Every time I've you know, I like I for your birthday or whatever, and you save your money, and that's the I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_03How many Harry Styles uh concerts have you gone to?
SPEAKER_07Okay, I learned some things I like. Yeah, that's nothing wrong with that. Yeah, like she's single, she's able to do it. Exactly. I would do the fucking same thing. You know what I would do? I would get a job at a at a yacht on a yacht boat. You know, like sometimes those uh what is it called?
SPEAKER_03Uh below deck.
SPEAKER_07Below deck, I would freaking do that. If I was young, I would do that in a heartbeat because that looks like fun. I wouldn't know you wouldn't be a roadie pussy.
SPEAKER_01You wouldn't be a roadie, you'd be traveling with the rockers. Yeah, they get paid for everything.
SPEAKER_07Nah. You ever see uh what is that movie? Um Forever, what is it called?
SPEAKER_03Forever young. No, no, no, no.
SPEAKER_05Almost almost uh famous. Almost famous. I haven't seen it. I haven't seen it yet.
SPEAKER_07You're you call yourself a rocker you haven't seen.
SPEAKER_05I've never called myself a rocker. No, you saw her.
SPEAKER_07Okay, you should call yourself a rocker because you kind of are. You kinda are. I mean, you kinda are. Do you smell that? You know, uh, I mean, that's you may not want the persona, but you sing, you're in a band. Uh what what instrument do you play? The air guitar? All of them. I play pretty much all of them. Okay, well, see, you're you're a rocker. You're a musician.
SPEAKER_03He's got Sour Patch on his socks. Yeah.
SPEAKER_07You're wearing an elf shirt. What is that? F shirt?
SPEAKER_03No. AFI. That's Tim Robbins.
SPEAKER_04It's Tim Robinson, the general, and then AFI, and then some like Windows 96 pick. I'm lost. I have no clue.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, it's it looks like queso.
SPEAKER_05It looks like elf. Oh, queso the streamer.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. What?
SPEAKER_05Does he have an orange beard?
SPEAKER_01No.
SPEAKER_05I don't see it. No, queso's hilarious, though.
SPEAKER_03If I would go back, I would uh probably I don't know if I would go to prom.
SPEAKER_05I would go to the after party, but if I could go back, I'd do a lot of things different.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_05I still want to go to prom.
SPEAKER_03Hindsight's 2020.
SPEAKER_07But you know what? I would go to prom and I would have sex with all the girls.
SPEAKER_03Oh my god. Including the teachers.
SPEAKER_07The twins, the show.
SPEAKER_03John Constantine.
SPEAKER_07No, there is one teacher. And I would, you don't remember like uh uh what do you call it? Uh Saturday Night Live when they had um uh the the two three brothers, Steve, Steve Martin, um, those guys that were like bump into games.
SPEAKER_03Oh, Night at the Rockstar? Yeah, Night of the Rockstar.
SPEAKER_07I would fucking do that like an heartbeat. I would like go up to like the nuns and do that to the I would go up to the nuns and just like uh grind on them.
SPEAKER_01Uh personally, I would I would do my prom all over again.
SPEAKER_03Well, good for you. I love the spoken of choose Gen Zier.
SPEAKER_07You know what I want to see someday? And you know, uh I'm I'm very, I'm very uh what do you call it? Um yes, that too, but I I'm very sympathetic to the people that are small, the little people. I would love to go to um why does everything go back to midgets?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you you definitely like that topic.
SPEAKER_07Julia watches this program, the little Johnson's, and I thought it was a program about penises. I thought it was a program about penises, but it's about little people.
SPEAKER_03No, the uh Johnson's no the little smokies is originally like what I think of when I think of little Johnson's like those little smokies. Yeah, those are good. See, now I would go to a problem with little people, put some barbecue sauce and grape jelly, put it in a crock pot for two hours, get a toothpick, you suck stuff right there.
SPEAKER_07You know what? That would be a great idea. Pour barbecue sauce on little people.
SPEAKER_03Oh my god.
SPEAKER_07There's places for that.
SPEAKER_05There's places for that.
SPEAKER_07What kind of hotel goes? What kind of hotel offers that?
SPEAKER_03I do not follow the advice nor the concept that my father has brought about the pouring of the barbecue sauce. Yeah, viewer discretion advisors do not condone his the thoughts and uh condone things that my dad is saying is that.
