Welcome to Gen is Us Podcast, where we dive into the dynamic world generational conversation with your host, John, the baby boomer, along with Jessica the Millennial, and Joey the Gen Z. Hello, hello, everybody out there. This is Genesis Us Podcast. This is the Alpha Generation Edition. We have two young boys who are going to be our guests. They're actually my little granddudes. And who are you? Number one.

SPEAKER_03

Um, Owen.

SPEAKER_01

Owen. And then we got Finn, right? Uh-huh. Okay, say hi, Finn. Hi. Finn. All right. So today's uh edition is going to be about random questions. Also, we're gonna ask them about uh summer. They just got out of school for the summer break, and we're gonna ask them what they are going to do for summer and what they're into in the summer. So let's start out with Owen. Owen, what are you gonna do for the summer break?

SPEAKER_03

Um, two major things watch the um soccer world cup and two read for an hour every day. That's my goal.

SPEAKER_01

That's that's a really good goal. That really is a good goal. How about you, Finn? What are you gonna do? Uh yes?

SPEAKER_02

Uh complete the opposite.

SPEAKER_01

Complete opposite? So you're not gonna read for an hour and you're not gonna watch soccer. Is that what you're saying?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and also and YouTube.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, you're gonna be watching YouTube? Yeah. Why? YouTube is like uh eating bubblegum and not getting anything out of it. Yeah, I just love it.

SPEAKER_03

I agree with both of you.

SPEAKER_01

All right, so um, so you have some uh some pretty good goals as far as education, which is good, and sports. Uh are you guys playing any sports during the summer break?

SPEAKER_03

Uh uh I'm playing uh soccer and baseball.

SPEAKER_01

Is this your first year in baseball?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. How do you like it? And the dragon. Pretty good.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah? How about you, Finn? How do you like baseball?

SPEAKER_02

Good.

SPEAKER_01

Which one do you like more? Soccer or baseball? Or football? Because you're in fall football too. Oh yeah, I am. And you're right, you're in wrestling. You're an athlete. You know that. Okay, there's no secrets here. Um, no, no, there's no six seven here. Okay, so we're gonna ask you about that too.

SPEAKER_03

It's Gen Alpha 6'7.

SPEAKER_01

Gen Alpha 67? Yes.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, then 6-7.

SPEAKER_01

All right, so so okay, so so Wait, wait, wait, can I speak? Sure, go ahead.

SPEAKER_03

Um the new the new um generation, since this is uh Gen is us podcast, the new generation started in 2025 called Gen Beta.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, is it? Yeah, Gen Beta.

SPEAKER_03

I have a couple cousins that are actually Gen Beta.

SPEAKER_01

So So are they gonna be like electronically controlled, digitally controlled? Do you know what AI is?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, and I know a couple of AI um platforms.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Um I've got Claude.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, yeah, Claude.

SPEAKER_01

I use Claude.

SPEAKER_03

Uh I know what Claude is. Um I use Chat GPT. That's the Gemini, Google, AI. Um like you said, Claude. Um trying to think of more.

SPEAKER_01

Those are a lot. But AI is Chat GP2. Are you okay? Finn, are you you know what AI is? Artificial intelligence? It's not people like us, it's machines that think and do uh chores or like work and stuff like that. Yeah. Are you all for it? Do you like AI or do you are you afraid of AI that'll take over the world someday?

SPEAKER_03

Personally, I'm kind of both.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, I am too. Honestly, I am too. Well, I think for adults, they think of okay, AI is going to take away jobs. So, like when you're your mom's age, it it's gonna be hard for her. Right now, she's you know, like has a good job, but you never know if AI is gonna take that job because it's artifici artificial intelligence. So when you graduate from high school, they may not be jobs because of AI. That's bad, right? Yeah, right.

SPEAKER_03

Because then people get less money.

SPEAKER_01

Right. And that means they've got machines working.

SPEAKER_03

That means people can't pay off their rent. Right. Which means more people are gonna be homeless.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_03

Which means there's gonna be a human robot war in the future.

SPEAKER_01

Like Terminator. Have you seen Terminator, the movie?

SPEAKER_03

No, but I'm going to see Terminator 2 with my dad soon. Um that's a good movie.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, Terminator. It's with Arnold Schwarzenegger.

SPEAKER_03

It's my first rated R movie.

SPEAKER_01

Arnold Schwarzenegger. We saw yesterday we went to see Mandalorian and Guru.

SPEAKER_02

Owen? I have a question. Yes. Go ahead. Am I gonna go with you to what? The movie you're going. No, you're too young.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you're too young.

SPEAKER_03

You're too young.

SPEAKER_01

Because you know what? You're gonna see all sorts of explosions, robots taking over the world, and bad stuff. You don't want to see that yet.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that's creepy.

SPEAKER_01

That's bad, yeah.

SPEAKER_03

No? It's bad. It's kind of bad.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, it is, it is.

SPEAKER_02

Uh I no. Yes, it is. Not bad for little kids. The what? It's not bad for the kids. Uh, it is.

SPEAKER_01

It's rated R, so. Yeah. I think right now you could see probably PG 13.

SPEAKER_03

Oh no, I've been watching PG13 since I was born. Stop that. I have.

SPEAKER_01

You were not watching PG 13 when you were a toddler or newborn.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, I was.

SPEAKER_01

No, you were not. You don't even remember.

SPEAKER_03

My mom and my dad and grandma. Well, they may have been watching the movie, but you don't watching me they were watching the movie with me as a newborn.

SPEAKER_01

Uh uh, sure. Okay.

SPEAKER_03

A year older.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, what's the uh what's the uh latest uh PG 13 movie that you saw?

SPEAKER_03

The latest released or the latest I saw?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, the you saw.

SPEAKER_03

Oh the latest I saw. Right. I've seen a lot. You don't remember. Yeah, because I've seen a lot.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Probably Um Harry Potter, I guess.

SPEAKER_01

It's it's it's uh yeah, it's like a PG 13. They're a little violent, but not real, real violent. Yeah. Yeah. So I mean So how was school this year?

SPEAKER_03

Did you Oh yeah, really good.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, so I mean you got into uh what what grade are you gonna be in going into next year, Owen?

SPEAKER_03

Fifth.

SPEAKER_01

Fifth. How about you, Finn? Second. Second grade? You're gonna be a second grader?

SPEAKER_03

Finn, speak into the microphone.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, you're you're kind of far away. I mean, I can raise your volume. But um, okay, so what are you looking forward to in fifth grade, Owen?

SPEAKER_03

Uh I'm looking forward to um doing band.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, you want to get in the band?

SPEAKER_03

No, I am in band.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, you are in band?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I just it just didn't start yet.

SPEAKER_01

Well, you're in choir too, aren't you?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I'm gonna be in band and choir.

SPEAKER_01

That's great. How about you, Finn? Finn?

SPEAKER_03

A syncynical.

SPEAKER_01

You're what?

SPEAKER_03

A syncynical.

SPEAKER_01

A syncynical, what's that?

unknown

Something I made up.

SPEAKER_01

If you had a choice between only wearing socks or only wearing underwear for a month, which one would you pick? Finn? Which one do you wear? Socks or underwear?

unknown

Uh-uh.

SPEAKER_01

Underwear?

SPEAKER_03

I would pick underwear too. I don't want people, I don't want people to see my nuts.

SPEAKER_01

And your butt? Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Let's face little.

SPEAKER_01

Alright, would you would you um Owen, Finn, would you rather be covered with hair all over your body or would you be hairless? No hair at all. Would you be hairless or have hair all over your body? Like Bigfoot.

SPEAKER_03

Hairless. I mean, I still want to have hair, just not all over my body, you know. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Well, no, it's one or the other. So you'd be hairless.

SPEAKER_03

I'd rather be hairless than to be like Bigfoot.

SPEAKER_01

Right. Okay. How about you, Finn?

SPEAKER_03

I still want to have hair, just not same.

SPEAKER_01

Same? All right. So would you rather wear a swimsuit in the North Pole or a snowsuit in the Sahara Desert? Do you know what the Sahara Desert is? Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

A swimsuit.

SPEAKER_01

A swimsuit in the North Pole? Yeah. So you'd be freezing your testes? Yeah. Yeah. How about you, Finn? Would you rather wear a swimsuit in the North Pole or would you rather wear a sw uh a snowsuit in the Sahara Desert? I know you. You're probably going to wear a swimsuit in the North Pole. You don't you hate to be hot, right? Or do you like the cold?

SPEAKER_02

Neither.

SPEAKER_01

It's one or the other, man. All right. So tell me tell me a little about going into uh fifth grade, uh, Owen. So you're gonna be going into fifth grade. Um, how did you like the fourth grade? Yeah? What did you learn last year?

SPEAKER_03

During fourth grade, I learned multiplying mixed numbers.

SPEAKER_01

Multiplying mixed numbers. So if I said 20 times five, how much would it be? 20 times that's easy.

SPEAKER_03

It's a hundred.

SPEAKER_01

All right. That's good. How about you, Finn? What did you learn last year in first grade?

SPEAKER_03

Finnegan.

SPEAKER_01

Finnegan, can you answer the question?

SPEAKER_02

No.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, all right. All right, so you guys have any questions for me? Are you guys looking forward to the fourth of July?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah? What do you what are you guys gonna do for the fourth of July? Anything exciting? You know, it's the 250th uh birthday of this country.

SPEAKER_03

I didn't know I did know that.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Um and la last year was the 700th anniversary of Mexico.

SPEAKER_01

Right. Finn, uh, what are you looking forward to uh as far as like the uh 4th of July? Uh you guys have any plans yet?

SPEAKER_03

Getting soaked.

SPEAKER_01

Getting soaked?

SPEAKER_03

Oh yeah, yeah. Every year we um go to like someone's house, like we do like a biking party to someone's house, and then we just throw water bones. But the worst part is the cleanup after.

SPEAKER_01

Right, right. Well, I think I've gone to a couple of those. And then uh you guys have a lot of time. They usually usually they have like fire truck come over there. Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And when everyone's there, right. Um we saw and go go to that person's house.

SPEAKER_01

So, Finn, what is what is the biggest thing right now that you like doing? I know there's so many things out there call your attention because you're a uh second grader going into second. What are the things that you like right now as a second grader? What are your favorite toys, your favorite shows, uh favorite people? What do you like the most?

SPEAKER_02

Uh please speak up. I can answer all those questions first with my favorite toy.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, what's your favorite toy?

SPEAKER_02

My favorite toy is Legos.

SPEAKER_01

Legos? Okay, cool. What kind of Legos? Any kind of Legos?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, cool.

SPEAKER_02

Actually, mostly Minecraft Legos.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. That's pretty cool. Uh, how about you? How about you, Owen?

SPEAKER_03

What's this? Um I like playing soccer.

SPEAKER_01

You like playing soccer? Yes.

SPEAKER_03

And I also like reading.

SPEAKER_01

What's your favorite sport?

SPEAKER_03

Soccer.

SPEAKER_01

No, fit.

SPEAKER_02

Uh my top two is baseball. Uh-huh. That's my second. Okay.

unknown

And my fourth is soccer.

SPEAKER_01

All right. So your second and fourth, you skipped one and two. What's number one and two?

SPEAKER_02

No.

SPEAKER_01

So you like soccer first and then baseball, or is it baseball first and then soccer? Uh first place. First place.

SPEAKER_02

Soccer. Okay.

SPEAKER_01

Second place is baseball. Yeah. Do you like football?

SPEAKER_02

Not very much. Really? You don't like him uh I'll put uh football in fourth place.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. And do you like bowling in third place?

SPEAKER_02

No, uh basketball.

SPEAKER_01

Basketball. Oh, you like basketball? Yeah. Oh, that's pretty cool. How about you, Owen? Oh, we know that you like soccer, so let's let's just what do you like second, third, and fourth?

SPEAKER_03

Um, so one is soccer, second is football.

SPEAKER_01

Nice, yes. I like football. I played soccer too when I was your age. Well, no, a little older, a little older.

SPEAKER_03

Third. Third is hard, I know.

SPEAKER_01

Well, it's either baseball or uh third.

SPEAKER_03

Third is baseball, and then fourth is basketball.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, there you go. All right, cool. That's nice. You guys asked me a question. Do you have a question for me? We covered a lot of stuff already. We talked about AI. Um okay, so here's a question for both you. What are you scared about the most growing up?

SPEAKER_03

Uh we alone. Oh.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. I think anybody is, yes.

SPEAKER_03

Um growing up, I'm not scared of it now. Uh the darkness.

SPEAKER_01

The darkness?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, but growing up, not now. Same.

SPEAKER_01

The darkness?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, but not not now. Um I conquered that fear.

SPEAKER_01

You did? So if I turned off all the lights and went upstairs, you'd be alright? Yeah. Well, you know why? Because you know that we're upstairs, right?

SPEAKER_03

Right now we're downstairs.

SPEAKER_01

Because it's haunted down here. There's ghosts down here.

SPEAKER_03

You don't believe you.

SPEAKER_01

Uh-huh. The TV comes on by itself sometimes.

SPEAKER_03

Actually, did I joke?

SPEAKER_01

I'm not joking. No, but actually, yeah, the the TV sometimes when I come down here, it's on. And we hear stuff all the time around the house.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. So, um, what's your favorite soccer team?

SPEAKER_01

I don't have a real a favorite soccer team because I'm not really a big soccer fan.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, if somebody turned it on uh and it was between soccer and golf, I think I'd probably watch soccer. Yeah. Yeah. Or if it was like somebody drinking water and watching soccer, I'd probably watch drinking water.

SPEAKER_03

What? So um you think drinking water is also better than golf? Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Right, right.

SPEAKER_03

Like Tigma.

SPEAKER_01

Tigma. What is Tigma? Okay, so is the six seven craze gone?

SPEAKER_03

Um, no. No. Some people hate it.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, well, I mean that's what I'm saying. Is it is it gone? Are people stopped that have stopped with the craze? You know, like the six seven craze.

SPEAKER_03

A lot of my friends still say it, but Oh really?

SPEAKER_01

Do you guys make fun of them?

SPEAKER_03

There is one person that there is one of my friends that um people say 6'7 just to annoy to. Yeah. I still like saying 6'7, just not around him. Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_01

I got a question for you, Finn. Would you rather let a spider crawl in your ear or a cockroach crawl up your nose? But come on, Finn. Do you understand the question?

SPEAKER_02

A cockroach.

SPEAKER_01

A cockroach? Why a cockroach?

SPEAKER_02

Up your nose because his bogles in your nose.

SPEAKER_01

So you think that it's gonna stop the cockroach from going in? Yeah. Oh. That's a good one. How about you, Owen?

SPEAKER_03

Um, same as Finn. Would you rather No, but like not because bugger is just I'd just say.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, because it's yeah. Uh would you rather jump into a pool of slime or a pool of mud?

unknown

Slime.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, slime.

SPEAKER_01

Slime. Do you guys like slime?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Why do you like slime?

SPEAKER_03

It's just fun to play with.

SPEAKER_01

All right. Would you rather drink sour milk? Do you know what sour milk is?

SPEAKER_03

No.

SPEAKER_01

Milk that's gone bad.

SPEAKER_03

Oh.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so would you rather uh drink bad milk or brush your teeth with dish dish soap?

SPEAKER_02

Bush teeth.

SPEAKER_01

Old milk. Old milk? That's a good one. Would you rather drink from the toilet or have or have to pee in a litter box?

SPEAKER_03

Litter box.

SPEAKER_01

Why litter box?

SPEAKER_03

It's more, it's more sanitary because if you drink, I mean both are weird, but if you You know, toilet water is actually clean because that water comes up and it's clean water.

SPEAKER_01

When you poop in it, then it's dirty water. It's got bacteria in it.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, but everything has bacteria.

SPEAKER_01

Would you rather eat dog food or cat food?

SPEAKER_03

Dog food. Dog food with some like dog powder that you like spray.

SPEAKER_01

Have you ever had dog food?

SPEAKER_03

No.

SPEAKER_01

Finn, have you ever eaten?

SPEAKER_03

I thought about it, but no.

SPEAKER_01

No? So when Ollie, uh, when you feed Ollie, what does she usually eat? Like the hard, hard food? Like the rocks or whatever? Like the dog food? Yeah, the dog food. Yeah. See, we give ours like bologna. We give her like bologna, but steak. I think we give her chicken. All right.

SPEAKER_03

You should give her McDonald's chicken nuggets.

SPEAKER_01

Uh actually I have. Yeah. Yeah. Uh okay. Huh?

SPEAKER_02

She gets a little crazy about it.

SPEAKER_01

She's always crazy, yeah. Stormy's. That's why her name is Stormy, because she's crazy. All right. Would you rather eat a ball of hair or a handful of dirt?

SPEAKER_03

Handful of dirt.

SPEAKER_01

Oh my god. How about you, Finn?

SPEAKER_03

Well, it was the first one.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, would you rather eat a ball of hair or a handful of dirt? Hair. Why? Why, Finn?

SPEAKER_02

Usually hair before.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, you did? Was it tasty?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

It did not taste like anything. Come on, right?

SPEAKER_02

It tastes like chocolate milk.

SPEAKER_01

Oh. It did not. Unless you soak somebody's head in chocolate milk.

SPEAKER_02

Someone pee in chocolate milk. What?

SPEAKER_01

Who was that? Alright, would you rather would you rather barf on your favorite celebrity or have them barf on you?

SPEAKER_03

Have them barf barf on me.

SPEAKER_01

That's gross. Or would you rather barf on somebody, Finn?

SPEAKER_03

Barf on somebody.

SPEAKER_01

Right? Yeah, I would rather barf on somebody and not let them barf on me.

SPEAKER_03

That's that's because someone actually um barfed on my shoe once.

SPEAKER_01

Really? Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

It was really gross, but it it was it was um it was it wasn't that bad.

SPEAKER_01

Have you ever seen your dog barf?

SPEAKER_03

No, but I I ha I haven't seen I haven't seen her barf, but I have seen her I've seen her barf just not the action.

SPEAKER_01

I see I've seen uh Stormy barf a couple times.

SPEAKER_03

I have like she'll reverse. I've seen like I see like what like uh I've seen I've seen our dog uh I see our dog's barf. I've just never saw her barfing. I I s I saw her barf. I just never saw her actually barf. Oh I did see her barf.

SPEAKER_01

Here's a good question for Finn. Finn, would you rather walk barefoot through dog poop or poison ivy? You know what poison ivy is? Would you rather walk through poop or poison ivy?

SPEAKER_03

Poison ivy. Really? Why?

SPEAKER_01

Because um see poop you can clean off right away. Poison ivy lasts. You can have scratch you'll be scratching yourself for a long time. Yeah. Okay, all right. Sticking with that, sticking with that answer. All right, I like that. All right. Would you rather make a snowman or build a sand castle? Um so one's in the summer and one's in the winter. Would you rather build a snowman or a sandcastle?

SPEAKER_03

Sandcastle.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Oh wow, okay.

SPEAKER_03

Easier to build.

SPEAKER_01

A snowman? Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

But a sand castle is more easier to build.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but you know what? A sand castle is not gonna last longer than a snowman. A snowman will last longer if it's cold. A sandcastle, all you have to do is the wind or the water will destroy it. Then it'll last forever.

SPEAKER_02

It's hard to build.

SPEAKER_01

What?

SPEAKER_02

No, not to build it.

SPEAKER_01

And it is hard to build, yes, absolutely. Sandcastle is hard to build. A snowman is just round, a big round ball.

SPEAKER_02

Once, yeah. I actually tried to make like part of a sand castle in my grandgraph sand thing. And and I put the sand in it. Uh. Then I put it down.

SPEAKER_01

Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_02

And it did walk.

SPEAKER_01

It did work?

SPEAKER_02

It just fell down. Really? Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

That's interesting. Okay. I liked it. So, um, what's the craziest thing, Finna, you have ever done in your in your short time?

SPEAKER_02

Climb on top of a mountain.

SPEAKER_01

Climb on top of a mountain. Yeah. Okay.

SPEAKER_02

Twice. One in a car. Uh-huh. And and and one with barefoot. Really?

SPEAKER_03

That is true. That is true. Colorado. In Colorado, we um we walked with our feet and then we drove up a mountain in a different part of Colorado.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Both of them, uh, one. Do you know the highest peak in the um US?

SPEAKER_01

The highest peak in the United States. Actually, I don't know, but I could look it up. I could look it up.

SPEAKER_03

I think we uh climb I think we drove that.

SPEAKER_01

What is the highest peak in the United States?

SPEAKER_03

I think I know.

SPEAKER_01

Guess. Guess where it's at, Owen?

SPEAKER_03

Colorado.

SPEAKER_01

No, you're wrong.

SPEAKER_03

Mount Whitney?

SPEAKER_01

Right, Mount Whitney in California. No, that's the third. The number one is Denali in Alaska. It towers 20,310 feet above sea level.

SPEAKER_03

Above sea level.

SPEAKER_01

Above sea level, yeah. So, but it says the continuous. What's second? The lowest or is uh 48 Mount Whitney in California, located in the Sierra Nevada. It stands 14,505 meters above water. The Rocky Mountains, Mount Elbert, Colorado, is the highest point in the Rockies at 14,440 meters feet. I'm sorry. And in the Pacific Northwest, Mount Rainier in Washington, this massive active volcano volcano reaches 14,411 above.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, because we climbed Pike's Peak. Pikes Peak? Apparently they have world famous donuts.

SPEAKER_01

Where is Pikes Peak?

SPEAKER_03

Colorado.

SPEAKER_01

Colorado. Yes. In the southern front range of the Rocky Mountains in central Colorado stands 14,115 feet.

SPEAKER_02

D level.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's pretty cool. Who would have known that? Us. Right. Albert Einstein. Right. All right. Would you rather be a doctor or an astronaut? Would you rather be a doctor or an astronaut? Remember, doctor operates and an astronaut goes to the moon. Or space.

SPEAKER_03

Space.

SPEAKER_01

Yes, I agree. How about you, Owen?

SPEAKER_03

Uh I like to. I would like, um, I would like to be a doctor more. I just think I just think being an astronaut is um like more cooler to learn, but I would still r rather be a doctor.

SPEAKER_01

Doctor? Okay. Boy, you guys are cooler.

SPEAKER_03

It's cooler, but being an astronaut is way cooler to learn about. I just would like to be a doctor.

SPEAKER_01

Here is a question that is going to shape your vacations.

SPEAKER_03

Mm-hmm.

SPEAKER_01

All right. Would you rather camp in a tent or stay in a fancy hotel? First, Owen, answer the question.

SPEAKER_03

Um, camp in a tent depending where it is.

SPEAKER_01

No, no, no, no. Can't depend on where it is. Would you rather camp in a tent or stay in a fancy hotel? I don't know. You gotta answer the question. Come on.

SPEAKER_03

Um camp.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. How about you, Finn? Camp or fancy hotel?

SPEAKER_02

Fancy hotel.

SPEAKER_01

Wow. I see, I would have never thought that. I thought it would be the opposite. I actually thought it was the opposite. All right. Would you rather go fishing or would you rather go shopping?

SPEAKER_02

Fishing. Yeah, I like it.

SPEAKER_01

See, how come you don't want to go camping? It's the same thing. Fishing. Yeah. Fishing. Yeah, when are we gonna go fishing, guys?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I want to go fishing.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, let's go fishing. Not right now. Finn, you were so good. Would you rather live where it never snows or where it snows every day? You want to live in a place where it snows every day or it doesn't snow.

SPEAKER_03

Never snows.

SPEAKER_01

It never snows.

SPEAKER_03

Never snows.

SPEAKER_01

I like snow. I but I like snow in a Christmas time. That's it. Imagine not, imagine not uh living or living in a place where it doesn't snow at all, right? It happens. There's people out in the the west that don't get any snow. California, Arizona, Texas, uh, they don't get snow. Yeah. I mean rarely. They do get some once in a blue moon, but it's rare. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Um North Carolina North Carolina broke a record this year. Um having them having the most snow by inches, uh-huh, I think, um, of state history.

SPEAKER_01

Really? I believe that's the same.

SPEAKER_03

Seven seventeen seventeen to eighteen inches.

SPEAKER_01

I believe that because it was a really weird weather year or winter in different states. I went to Florida for a conference and it was the coldest day in Florida in like 30 years. It actually snowed the day before we got there. And actually, when we were driving, it was snowing in Florida. Yeah, so it snowed when we were heading out there. The coldest it's ever been in Florida. We went to Universal and we went to um Islands of Adventure. Have you guys ever gone there? No. They have like roller coasters and all sorts of pretty cool stuff in Florida. But it was cold. We actually had to wear our jackets. It was like 50 between 40 and 50 degrees outside, and that's cold for Florida. Alright, so here's here's a good question. Would you rather go to Walt Disney or to Hawaii?

SPEAKER_03

Hawaii.

SPEAKER_01

Hawaii? That's good.

SPEAKER_03

Norway.

SPEAKER_01

Norway? What's in Norway?

SPEAKER_03

A lot of cool stuff. I'd rather go to Norway than to just What's in Norway that that you're fascinated about? I just really like Norway and I'm what did you learn about Norway?

SPEAKER_01

School?

SPEAKER_03

My friend. My friend, and I also just um I'm gonna prefer Norway and the World Cup.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, they have a soccer team.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, and I'm gonna get my first Norway jersey.

SPEAKER_01

Cool. You Finn, where would you get it?

SPEAKER_03

The fun fact, I'm actually part Norwegian myself.

SPEAKER_01

Are you really? I can see that.

SPEAKER_03

I'm one and a half percent Norwegian.

SPEAKER_01

You what?

SPEAKER_03

I'm one and a half percent Norwegian.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, can it the Finn? What did you say?

SPEAKER_03

France.

SPEAKER_01

France? I'm with you. I want to go to France. I want to go visit France.

SPEAKER_02

We also see our friends. Huh? We also are France.

SPEAKER_01

You know you're not French. We're not French. We we're Norwegian. You you speak like Parisian. Parisian.

SPEAKER_02

Parisian.

SPEAKER_01

Parisian. But I w you know what? I'd rather I'd I'd like to go to Hawaii. Hawaii would be cool.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, I'm to go to Disney World.

SPEAKER_01

You like to go to Disney World? Um When's the last time you guys went to Disney World? It's been a little while, right? When'd you go?

SPEAKER_03

2022.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, okay. So that was uh four years ago, yeah. Yeah. You were you were like what, Finn? You were like maybe three years old. Yeah, you were three years old.

SPEAKER_02

No, I was four.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, whatever. Yeah, you were about three years old. You were about like Sigma. This summer, aside from all the stuff you guys want to do, what do you ha what are you looking forward to as far as summer?

SPEAKER_03

The World Cup.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. We uh obviously it's sports. How about something else?

SPEAKER_03

Reading.

SPEAKER_01

Huh?

SPEAKER_03

Reading.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, YouTube?

SPEAKER_03

Reading!

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so um, when you grow up, what do you want to be, Owen?

SPEAKER_03

Professional soccer player.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, but what if you can't be a soccer player?

SPEAKER_03

Paleontologist.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, what's a paleontologist?

SPEAKER_03

They study uh a dinosaur fossil scientist. A dinosaur, yeah, I'd like a dinosaur fossil scientist. They study and dig up f dinosaur fossils.

SPEAKER_01

You can't do the same thing as your brother does.

SPEAKER_03

It's it's not not always um not always uh dinosaur fossils.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Actually, you can do what you your brother does. So you want to be a paleontologist too, Finn?

SPEAKER_03

No, but I would like to be a soccer player more.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so what if you do you want to be a soccer player too, Finn? Yeah, yeah. What is your second sport that you want to be a professional in?

SPEAKER_02

Nothing.

SPEAKER_01

Nothing?

SPEAKER_02

Uh baseball.

SPEAKER_01

Baseball, you want to be a baseball player? I can see you as a football player. I can't I can see you as a football player.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, football.

SPEAKER_01

I can see you as a football player. I can see you as a running back first a tight end.

SPEAKER_03

First football, first football and then football.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, football and football. Yes. All right. Would you rather always be hungry or always be thirsty? Um always be thirsty.

SPEAKER_02

Always be hungry.

SPEAKER_01

So you always want to be hungry? Yeah. No, you'd rather be thirsty because you like to you like to eat?

SPEAKER_02

That's actually true.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, do you like to eat a lot? Yeah. Okay, so then you'd rather be thirsty. Because then you can eat all the time. Right? And plus I just boggled your mind.

SPEAKER_03

A lot of food has like juice in it. Like steak has that like like kind of like juice and grease juice.

SPEAKER_01

Are you talking about gravy?

SPEAKER_03

Wait, steak has like this kind of juice. Like when you bite down on it, it has like the juice coming out of the steak?

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. That's because it's not dead yet. It's still mooin'. None of that. Moo. Huh?

SPEAKER_02

That's grease.

SPEAKER_01

That's grease.

SPEAKER_02

You liar.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so would you rather be stuck for a week in a room that's way too bright or a room that's pitch black?

SPEAKER_03

A room that's really light.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. That's a good one. Uh, okay, so would you rather live in space or at the bottom of the ocean? That's a good question. Would you rather Finn, would you rather be bottom of the ocean? Or bottom of the ocean?

SPEAKER_03

Bottom of the ocean. Even uh again, space is way more cooler to learn about. I think I mean they're both really cool to learn about.

SPEAKER_01

Space is a vacuum. As soon as you go into space, if you don't have the right equipment, you die right away. You freeze and you die.

unknown

Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_01

In water, at least you can swim, but if you're at the bottom of the ocean, there's no way you're gonna survive because you're gonna drown. So which would you rather be? In space or in the bottom of the ocean? If you could survive. Bottom of the ocean? For Finn. Owen?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, he said bottom of the ocean.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, all right. Both of you did bottom of the ocean. Okay, would you rather want to meet Santa Claus or Harry Potter?

SPEAKER_03

Harry Potter.

SPEAKER_01

Okay. And why Harry Potter?

SPEAKER_03

Because it has Santa Claus in it.

SPEAKER_01

Oh boy. No, it does not.

SPEAKER_03

The first movie?

SPEAKER_01

It has Santa Claus?

SPEAKER_03

I mean the first movie I has Christmas. Oh boy.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but not Santa Claus. True. How about you, Fenn? You want Santa Claus? Yeah. Okay. All right. Would you rather jump on a cloud or slide on a rainbow? Jump? Jump on a cloud. Or slide on a rainbow, Owen. Slide on a rainbow.

SPEAKER_02

Is that impossible?

SPEAKER_01

I know it's impossible. It's a fantasy question. What can I say? Would you rather be a powerful wizard or a legendary ninja? Owen first. A wizard or a ninja? What would you rather be? Ninja. How about you, Finn?

SPEAKER_02

Wizard.

SPEAKER_01

Wow. Why wizard?

SPEAKER_02

Because I I can uh I can turn them into computers. And I can use You could turn your brother into a frog. I can do hacking.

SPEAKER_01

Right. Or you could turn your brother into a frog or a donkey.

SPEAKER_03

I can't, because if I'm a ninja, I can run super fast.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but he could stop your dodge. Yeah, but he can turn you into a a frog and stomp on you. Yeah, he's a wizard. I'll still be he could turn you it doesn't matter how fast you are, he just goes, eh, and you're you're a donkey.

SPEAKER_03

I can dodge.

SPEAKER_01

Or he could make you a turtle and then run you over. Right?

SPEAKER_02

And I can freeze you.

SPEAKER_01

Right. You could freeze him. And then you're not going anywhere, right? Yeah. Alright. Right, yeah. You could, yeah. You can you can produce a uh a volcano and throw him in lava.

SPEAKER_02

I can make a lava pool, then I can throw him there.

SPEAKER_01

Right? Okay. Would you rather be invisible or be recognizable everywhere you go? That's kind of a dumb question, but would you rather be invisible or be recognizable to everybody around you?

SPEAKER_03

Recognizable.

SPEAKER_01

How about you, Finn? I think I know where you're gonna go.

SPEAKER_03

Invisible.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, that's what I thought.

SPEAKER_02

So I can steal cookies.

SPEAKER_01

Nobody's gonna see who you are. All right. Would you rather live in a world without cars or the internet? Would you rather have cars or would you rather have the internet?

SPEAKER_03

I would rather keep cars, have cars.

SPEAKER_01

Without cars, yeah. You're without cars or have internet. Which one would you rather have?

SPEAKER_03

Without internet.

SPEAKER_01

Wow, that's pretty cool because you're always on YouTube. That means that you would have YouTube.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, but we use cars as transportation.

SPEAKER_01

To get to where?

SPEAKER_03

Subway.

SPEAKER_01

Why would you want to go to the subway?

SPEAKER_03

Just kidding. Colorado.

SPEAKER_01

Oh boy. You like Colorado, huh?

SPEAKER_03

Yes, I do.

SPEAKER_01

Alright, would you uh rather be?

SPEAKER_02

Huh? How me and Senate. Oh, I'm sorry. Go ahead. Uh I'll do it.

SPEAKER_01

Without cars or would you rather have the internet? Without cars? Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, you know why?

SPEAKER_01

Uh tell me why. I want to know.

SPEAKER_02

Plant is still here.

SPEAKER_01

The what?

SPEAKER_02

Plaints are still here.

SPEAKER_01

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

So if you just walk to the airport. Airport.

SPEAKER_01

Airport. Yeah. Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_02

Then we can go there.

SPEAKER_01

Uh huh.

SPEAKER_02

Fly there.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, but how are you gonna get to the airport? Oh no, I know how. You turn your brother into a donkey, get on him, and ride him all the way to the airport. That's how you do it.

SPEAKER_03

No, you turn me into a cheetah.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, no, I'd turn you into a chicken and then eat him.

SPEAKER_02

I can still dodge his powers. Then after I do it, I could dodge his power. Then after I do it, I'll turn him into a chicken, then roast him.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_02

Then I'll eat him for lunch.

SPEAKER_01

Do you make him into fried chicken or grilled chicken?

SPEAKER_02

Fried chicken.

SPEAKER_01

Fried chicken. Alright. Would you rather would you rather have mermaids exist or fairies? Which one would you rather have?

SPEAKER_03

Fairies.

SPEAKER_01

Why fairies?

SPEAKER_03

Because they have magic.

SPEAKER_01

They fly around, right? Pixie dust, that kind of stuff. How about you, Finn? Mermaid or fairies?

SPEAKER_03

Mermaid.

SPEAKER_01

Mermaids? Yeah. I think mer mermaids are tall are bigger and probably, I don't know, they might be kind of slimy because they're in the water all the time, right? Although with your magic powers, all you have to do is dry them out with a wand. Alright. Would you rather uh be able to breathe fire or breathe underwater? Breathe fire like a dragon or be able to breathe underwater?

SPEAKER_03

Breathe underwater without gills.

SPEAKER_01

That's cool.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that's cool.

SPEAKER_01

That would be cool.

SPEAKER_03

Because I just because I just use a snorkel.

SPEAKER_01

Then you would be like Aquaman. You know Aquaman?

SPEAKER_03

No, I just use a snorkel.

SPEAKER_01

A snorkel? Snorkel?

SPEAKER_03

Um one foot below water, I just use a snorkel.

SPEAKER_01

Right. How about you, uh, Finn?

SPEAKER_03

Uh oh.

SPEAKER_01

Would you rather breathe fire like a dragon?

SPEAKER_02

Breathe underwater. Underwater. Then after I'd done that, uh-huh. Uh to me, then I'll then I'll breathe fire.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, here's a really good question for you guys. Would you rather give up ice cream forever or pizza forever? Which one? Pizza or ice cream? Finn, which one? Ice cream. You rather give up pizza?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, and then I can use my method along to make Actually no. I change I change pizza because ice cream is way more cooler. Right? In both ways. Okay. Cooler, it's cold and cooler like.

SPEAKER_01

Would you rather eat a hamburger that tastes like chocolate or a tuna fish flavored cookie? Both. That's gross. Both. A tuna fish flavored cookie. Both. Do you know what tuna tastes like?

SPEAKER_03

I've said both.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, do you know what tuna tastes like? I've had fishy.

SPEAKER_03

I've had salmon and sardines before, but not like. Oh, I'm sorry. Wait, no, I think I have tuna. I had to.

SPEAKER_01

But as a cookie? No. Okay, that's kind of gross.

SPEAKER_03

Both, though, still.

SPEAKER_01

I'd rather have a hamburger chocolate.

SPEAKER_03

Yes, I. No, but I would I want I want to have both. I've never.

SPEAKER_01

You can only have one. I only gave you options for one, man. Stick to the stick to the question. Okay, so here's another one. Would you rather bite your tongue every time you eat or burn the roof of your mouth every time? You know how sometimes you bite your your tongue when you're eating and it hurts? Or would you rather burn your tongue or your roof of your uh mouth? You know how that feels too? Like when you have spicy stuff? Uh no, like if you eat something that's really, really hot and didn't realize it was hot, and then you ate it and it burned like your own.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, that kind of hot. Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Or would you rather have uh what do you call it? Uh bite or your tongue be or bite your tongue. Because that hurts.

SPEAKER_03

Bite tongue. Bite tongue.

SPEAKER_01

Bite your tongue?

SPEAKER_03

If if we were talking about like spicy hot, I would pick that, but no, no, no, no.

SPEAKER_01

Spicy is different because spicy can be good. Although coming out of the other side, it's painful, you know.

SPEAKER_02

Can you do a Minecraft now?

SPEAKER_01

Okay. All right, let's Alright, Owen, let's uh go into the Minecraft. Yeah, yeah, Minecraft.

SPEAKER_03

I love Minecraft.

SPEAKER_01

Why do why do kids get into Minecraft so much? No, no, no, no. Wait a minute. Let's start with the youngest. Let's start out with Finn. Finn, why do you like Minecraft so much?

SPEAKER_02

Because we can make like like things in Minecraft.

SPEAKER_01

Uh-huh.

SPEAKER_02

Like bases are underwater or underground over a lava pool.

SPEAKER_01

So it's the fantasy of the imagination, right?

SPEAKER_02

No.

SPEAKER_01

No? It's like creating stuff, right?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, so that yeah. How about you?

SPEAKER_02

My Owen and his friend. Uh-huh. Wells.

SPEAKER_01

Uh-huh. What's his name? Wells. Okay. Ralse. Wells. Ralph?

SPEAKER_02

No.

SPEAKER_01

Elves?

SPEAKER_02

Wells.

SPEAKER_03

Wells.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, Wells. Yes. Wells like a big hole in the in the ground. Wells.

SPEAKER_03

Wells. But with the but with an E S at the end.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah. Wells. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Um, okay. So Minecraft, please.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, okay. Go ahead.

SPEAKER_03

So like they Finn, be quiet. I'm speaking. So no no no.

SPEAKER_01

You both speak. You could tell me about it.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. So like I um I'd like you just get to like try and beat the game. Like it's so fun. You could take adventures. You could like survive, you could create, you could like sort you could like um try to beat the game.

SPEAKER_01

Right.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So what would you rather have? Minecraft or Pokemon?

SPEAKER_03

Minecraft.

SPEAKER_01

So how come you you guys are you guys into uh Pokemon? Not anymore. Not anymore?

SPEAKER_03

Not anymore.

SPEAKER_01

Because you know there's a museum, uh the field museum has a uh Pokemon exhibit.

SPEAKER_03

And it's a we went to the field museum.

SPEAKER_01

No, that's it's a different. No, no, it's a field museum. It's a new, it's the the other one. There's two big museums downtown. One's the field and one's the uh science and industry. I think the one you went to was the science and industry. The field museum is the one that has dinosaurs, all right?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, we went to the field museum.

SPEAKER_01

It's a it's a new exhibit, just started a couple weeks, a couple about a week ago, and it's Pokemon, but it's like dinosaur Pokemon. So they have like fossils of Pokemon, which is kind of interesting.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, because the because um we went we went to the field museum. Um we went to the field museum uh late March, heading into early April, March and April.

SPEAKER_01

So which one do you like better? The field museum or the science of industry? Field museum. I like the science industry. There's more to do.

SPEAKER_03

I think we've been there. I just don't remember.

SPEAKER_01

We should go on a Friday uh when we when I'm free. I'll take you guys to the planetarium. That that'll be fun.

SPEAKER_02

Huh? Friday next week?

SPEAKER_01

Uh no, not next week, but maybe the following week. But um, yeah, that would be fun. I've not been to the planetarium in a long time. Can we also go to Shed? Yeah, we can go to the Shed. Yeah, I like the Shed. Yeah, I can be gone. I haven't gone in a long time.

SPEAKER_03

How about uh I haven't gone for about a couple weeks.

SPEAKER_01

Brookfield Zoo? Yes. Oh wow. Wow. That's cool. All right. Well, guys, it was fun. This was fun, right? Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_01

So, okay, now that you're going into fifth grade and in second grade, what do you give kids your age as far as advice for the summer? Finn, let's start out with you. What would you tell other kids your age what to do for the summer or what they should do for the summer?

SPEAKER_03

Watch soccer and read.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, stop. Not you.

SPEAKER_02

Oh man. Finn.

SPEAKER_01

Finn. Come on, Finn.

SPEAKER_02

Uh, I didn't know.

SPEAKER_01

Uh, you gotta know. What would you do? Tell the kids out there what you uh want to do or what they should do for the summer. Should they read? Should they play with their friends? Should they go to the ballpark?

SPEAKER_02

Should they go to Texas?

SPEAKER_01

Go to Texas? I don't know why, but yeah, I guess that's a good one. Why?

SPEAKER_02

This is hot.

SPEAKER_01

It's gonna be hot here too. And this is Illinois.

SPEAKER_02

You know why? Why? Because I have to see cactus.

SPEAKER_01

You want to see cactus? Yeah. You like cactus?

SPEAKER_03

We've seen Colorado. We've seen Colorado and it has.

SPEAKER_01

See, I've been I've been to Texas, I've been to Arizona, I've been to New Mexico. It's hot, but there's bugs that are this big in New Mexico and Texas. And when they attack you, they hurt.

SPEAKER_03

I've been to Texas. He hasn't, but I haven't.

SPEAKER_01

So, okay, so what's your advice to everybody out there, Finn? Tell us real fast. Tell us, real fast.

SPEAKER_03

SPEAKER_01

Six, seven, okay, whatever. Okay, oh, and you're next.
